Modern Family Enters Its Final Season

Audrey Smith, Writer

We’ve laughed and cried with them for 10 years, but sadly the ABC hit comedy, Modern Family, is ending. The producer confirmed in January that the show is intending on ending after its 10th season. It probably is the best time for the show to end since the main actors’ contracts are due to end in May of 2019. The show has had over 14 million viewers and won the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series five years in a row, 22 Emmy’s in total. Although there are some talks of a possible spin-off series for a few of the characters as well as a few rumors for a possible death at the end of the season. But we should never believe until we see.

The season 10 premiere was on September 26 and received pretty positive reviews. The plot is about the clan’s craziness on the Fourth of July. The story has a cute mother-son bond between Gloria and Manny, and a hilarious Phil moment involving a hot dog eating contest (I’ll let you see for yourself). And of course, there’s another Mitch and Cam scheme as well as their daughter Lily’s judginess. Overall this episode proved to be another great season premiere of the show giving us all the usual laughs and goofiness. The TV world will be sad to let this series go.
