Spencer Leadbetter makes the catch once again, bringing home a win to Loyola Academy against St. Rita on Saturday, September 9, 34-14. After only three games, Wide Receiver Spencer Leadbetter is credited with five touchdowns. 

This past Friday September 9, Leadbetter caught two touchdown passes from senior quarterback Jake Stearney. 

Leadbetter, a quick and strong player, snuck by St. Rita’s defense leaving him wide open for his first touchdown reception. As the game progressed, so did St. Rita’s defense. Two Rita defenders closely guarded Leadbetter as Stearney threw him the ball. Despite being double teamed, Leadbetter caught his second touchdown pass on the left side of the end zone. 

Leadbetter totaled four receptions for 50 yards, his longest reception being 19 yards. 

So far this season, Leadbetter has been a key component to this year’s offense. In all three games his statistics totaled to 160 receiving yards, 11 receptions, and 5 touchdowns.
