Loyola Academy starts Spring Break today and will be off until March 30. Students are looking forward to sleeping in, hanging out with friends, and traveling. Here are the top 10 places to travel over break for Loyola students.
10. Turks and Caicos. This island in the British Overseas Territory is a great place for anyone to vacation. There are a few Ramblers who are headed there, including Sophomore Audrey Lee, who said she is excited for a nice getaway.
9. Day Trips. There are so many fun places to travel that are only a short drive away. Mrs. Benas, a science teacher, plans to take a road trip to Milwaukee with her family.
8. Visiting Family. There is not one specific destination for this, but many students are using this break to travel to family members that live far away. Sophomore Nora Duryea will be visiting her cousin in San Diego, California. “I don’t get to see her as much since she moved away,” Duryea said. “So, I’m really looking forward to this trip.”
7. College Visit. Many juniors and seniors will be traveling around the country visiting colleges they could potentially attend. Juniors are just starting the college process and building a list. Seniors are trying to make a final decision, attend admitted students days, or visit the school they committed to.
6. Hilton Head. Hilton Head, South Carolina is another great vacation destination. A group of seniors is going on a trip there together this break. “I’m so excited to spend time with my friends,” senior Allie Powers said. “And it will be super warm.”
5. Spain. A group of teachers will be going to Spain to travel a part of the path that St. Ignatius followed during his life. Teachers said they looked forward to learning more about our namesake saint and deepening their faith.
4. Florida. Florida is always a popular destination. With the weather here being so confusing, it would be nice to get away somewhere warm.
3. France. Twenty-nine students will be traveling to France on the French Trip over break. They will have the chance to practice their skills from French class in cities such as Nice and Èze. They will also explore Loyola, Spain, where St. Ignatius is from.
2. Chicago. There is nothing wrong with a little stay-cation! Students who don’t travel have the options to rest, see their friends, and even explore the city.
- Mexico. Mexico seems to be the most popular destination for Ramblers this year. Some students are going on group trips with their friends, and many other families are traveling there as well. “I can’t wait to spend my break in Cabo,” said senior Evelyn Pricco, who will be going to Mexico with her family.
Clearly Loyola Academy students will be up to a lot of traveling and other fun activities while they get a nice break from school.
