Getting to Know Mr. Jansen
September 11, 2018
Welcome to Loyola! Let’s get to know one of our new staff members this year, Mr. Peter Jansen. Peter Jansen is now a part of our Theology Department.
He attended Marian University, St. Meinrad School of Theology in Indiana, and Boston College. He strives to teach students about how to know themselves better and ask questions about the world they live in.
Jansen has always wanted to teach, and first considering teaching biology due to his love of science; it was not until college where he really considered the thought of teaching theology. His interest was sparked by his role models who got him thinking about what he believed and what the most wonderful parts of life were.
He was drawn to Loyola by, “How large and how close the school was, and I thought how honored I would be to be part of that.”
A few facts about Jansen is that he enjoys woodworking, rock climbing, reading, ultimate frisbee, and mostly anything athletic. He also would have a cheetah as a pet, as their speed has amazed him since he was a child.
So, let us give a warm welcome to one of our newest theology teacher, Mr. Jansen!
