Wild Fires Ravage Northern California

Emily O'Donoghue, Writer

The deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California’s history has at last been put out. The huge Camp Fire, blazing in northern California, took 85 lives and destroyed 14,000 homes. As of now, 249 people are unaccounted for, and are still being looked for. The fire began around November 8 and contained hot temperatures and unbearable winds.

And while the fire may be contained, the terrible nightmare is far from over for so many people. Presently, thousands are homeless because of the devastation. A majority of these people are now forced to live in emergency shelters or hotels for the time being.

A glimpse of love and positivity was seen last Thursday, on Thanksgiving, when thousands of volunteers came together to give a holiday feast to those who have been affected by the devastation.

We keep the people of California, the brave firefighters and rescue teams, and all those affected in any way by the horrific fires in our thoughts and prayers.
