Questions, questions, and, you guessed it, some more questions! Scholastic Bowl is a club where you put your knowledge to the test. From poets, books, and art, to pop culture, politics, and science, Scholastic Bowl hits just about every topic.
The club meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15 to 4:45. Students form their own teams, either siding with each other or choosing the more competitive route and being opponents. Buzzers are given to each player to signify when you know the answer. Being able to buzz in is definitely loads of fun but even when you don’t know the answer, you’re learning so much from the people around you.
To get a better understanding of the club, junior student leader Nick Bobay discussed different aspects of the club from a student perspective.
Interviewer: What do you do in Scholastic Bowl?
Nick: It’s basically a trivia club where we answer questions and compete against other schools in trivia competitions on weekends.
Interviewer: Nice. Who are the teacher moderators for the club?
Nick: We have Mr. Hartman as the teacher moderator in the club and Mrs. Krebb as the other coach.
Interviewer: When did you join this club?
Nick: I joined the club freshman year, and it was a really good decision.
Interviewer: Do you have any good memories from the club?
Nick: Oh yeah, just hanging out with my friends. Practices are always fun and we always joke around a lot in those.
Interviewer: Have you made any strong relationships through the club?
Nick: Yes, I have.
Be sure to check out the club on Mondays and Wednesdays in rooms 117 and 119.
